Join the Protect Wisconsin Waterways Sweep
Saturday, September 12th, 2020
In 2017, at the first Protect Wisconsin Waterways Sweep, we had three clean-up locations and 30 volunteers helping clean up the Rock River and connected waterways. Fast forward to last year in 2019, the Sweep grew to include eight locations and 196 volunteers!
From picking up basic trash like aluminum cans and wrappers to more unique items – children’s bikes, plastic toys, shoes, a TV, bike and car tires, and a parks and recreation barrier – volunteers have fun while making a huge splash in the environment and community!
How can we make an even bigger impact in 2020?
With eight clean-up locations again this year, Protect Wisconsin Waterways plans get even more volunteers to exceed our numbers from last year! These locations will be in the Rock River Stormwater Group member communities of the City of Beloit, Town of Beloit, Janesville, Milton, Whitewater, Fort Atkinson, Beaver Dam, and Waupun.
-Beaver Dam -Janesville
-Fort Atkinson -Town of Beloit
-Whitewater -City of Beloit
