On Saturday, April 27th, the Protect Wisconsin Waterways team attended the Earth Day Downtown Clean Up and Annual Tree Planting Event at the Watermark Community Center in Beaver Dam. At the event, we engaged with 56 community members, most of which were families and a few elderly couples. We gave our enviroscape demonstration to the community members and identified a number of pollutants that we inadvertently pollute our waterways with everyday. We told them about proper stormwater practices and told them how they can help protect Wisconsin waterways. Also, we handed out our pens, pencils, stickers, and wristbands to those we spoke to and encouraged them to look us up on social media to learn more! We had a total of 22 community members take our pledge and sign up for the Runoff Rundown.
