Grant-Platte/Sugar-Pecatonica
The Grant-Platte/Sugar-Pecatonica basin is located in the southwestern corner of Wisconsin and flows into the Mississippi River. This basin includes Grant, Iowa, Green, Dane, Rock and Lafayette counties. A few of the watersheds included in this basin are the Platte, Grant, Sugar, Pecatonica,  and Mississippi Rivers. There are 137,000 people who live within this basin which is dominated by agriculture. According to the Wisconsin DNR, the Grant-Platte watershed is currently facing challenges stemming from manure management, chemical runoff as well a growing need for grazing controls. The DNR is currently searching for solutions to improve water quality in the basin.
