Upper & Lower Fox Basins

Upper Fox

The Upper Fox Basin is located in east central Wisconsin. It includes all of Marquette county and portions of Adams, Calumet, Columbia, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Winnebago, and Waushara counties. This basin includes the Fox and Fond du Lac Rivers and Lake Winnebago. The Upper Fox Basin has a total area of 2,090 square miles.

Lower Fox

The Lower Fox Basin is located in northeastern Wisconsin. It encompasses Brown, Calumet, Outagamie, and Winnebago counties. The Lower Fox Basin is 638 square miles. The Fox River Valley is one of the most industrial and urban areas of Wisconsin which contributes to water quality issues. The East River, the Apple, and Ashwaubenon Creeks and Duck Creek were selected as top priority watersheds to reduce nutrient and sediment loadings.
